Should External Links Point to Homepage?
If search engines care most about individual pages on a website - is there any good reason to have inbound links pointing to index.html? For example, some of the directory submissions I've been looking at want you to submit the homepage url only...

Browser In Testing Showing Different Result
I am frustrated because I have been testing my site on firefox and ie from my local root folder and the images are showing up. But when I upload the files to my website they aren't working correctly. I have made sure that the server that I have my files on has all of the most recent images uploaded on it and checked my links...

Relocate pages that never rank?
I've got a couple dozen pages that never show in SERPs for their targeted keyword phrases. Sometimes I think I'd be better off to remove those pages and publish the content elsewhere - article sites, lenses, etc. Is this a common thing to do? Would search engines possibly see both pages (duplicate content) for a certain amount of time?

When are free DNS changes nothing of the sort
I am in the Yahoo! Directory which is PR8, so I assume that Google adds authority or trust to this directory. My competitors are in there, about 3 pages worth. The first page is a PR4 value and I am on the top of the 2nd Page which has a value of PR0...

Spanish URLs - Special Characters
I'm adding spanish to my site. Spanish often has accents over the letters. Look at the URL on this page. http://www.norcalcars.com/Articles-S...3vilCuota.aspx. The o has an accent over it. This accent appears to be part of the normal spanish spelling of the word.

NoIndex'ed - Should I file a Reinclusion Request
I actually Noindex'ed my self. I was using Google Optimizer to test two different versions of our index page. Version "B" had a noindex, nofollow tag, I didn't want it inadvertantly indexed. Well, I went with version "B" and copied it over the index page, but forgot to remove the noindex, nofollow tag.

Defrauded by U.S. hosting company
One of our web sites was hosted at a small American hosting company. Two years ago, we were happy with everything. Beginning of this year, we decided to terminate the hosting agreement and send a cancellation request according to the procedure stated on the web site of the hosting company...

Is it Too late for No Follow Tags
If you have a site that is over 4 years old and has a lot of outbound links on the homepage, is it too late to set them to no follow. 90% of them are of an affiliate kind, to other sites that are in the same category/relevant sites. The site has ranked decently over the past couple of years, but has fallen off a bit.

Authorize.net and AVS
I'm having a problem with authorize.net and I'm hoping someone has an idea on how to fix it. On our website, we have integrated authorize.net into our shopping cart (using their Advanced Integration Method - AIM). When a customer clicks the final submit button, we do a real-time "authorize only" event on their credit card.

Duplicate content and php includes
Ok we want to intentionally distribute duplicate content on our quickly growing network of web sites. Sound crazy? Well it's about efficiency. we're talking about storing our price/shipping time list in a .php file that we can include into any webpage on any of our other websites.

Low Search Volume Terms Not Showing
I love the new Google keyword Diagnostic Tool. I ran it and got a list of words that have a low search volumn so do not show. I added these recently by pulling them out of the search query report.

Would my ads for the low volumn keywords be more likely to show if caught by the broad match term instead of adding the term as a phrase or exact match

Name that Penalty
I am currently watching a website lose it's search referral traffic at fast rate, maybe about 1/4 of it's search traffic per day. I expect by the end of the fourth day almost all the search traffic from Google will have disappeared while referrals from other search engines have remained normal...

Which software for clients to use
I have a couple of clients who would now like to begin maintaining their own websites - i.e. just changing the odd picture here and there and bits of text etc - nothing structure / layout wise. The websites they have are just basic html so the software needs to easily edit html and probably have a graphical as well as code view.
