WebProWorld Members,

Monday Monday... Did everyone have a good weekend? Mine wasn't bad. Spent a lot of time with family. Went to little cousin's baseball game, another cousin's birthday party, then out to eat with another cousin. And of course, a pit stop in between to see my niece. :) You do anything exciting? Hopefully the weather was nice where you were!

Our featured post today comes from rickanderson. He lives in Canada and is highly optimized in his local market for all relevant search terms. He was recently contacted by a guy saying that it would benefit him to become optimized around the world.... just have to have one page in japanese, chinese, etc.. Since the market where he provides service is *not* the entire world and is restricted to his city and surrounding areas, should he care about foreign engines? Click here!

As for the remaining posts, the first asks about using Twitter for traffic. The second says their site has went down in rankings in Google. The third discusses using Adwords as branding.

Should I Care About Foreign Search Engines?
I live in canada and am highly optimized in my local market for all relevant search terms..

I was recently contacted by a guy saying that it would behoove me to become optimized around the world....just have to have one page in japanese, chinese, etc..

Since my market where I provide my service is *not* the entire world and is restricted to my city and surround...should I care about foreign engines?

Will playing the I am everything to everybody in the world game help me stay ahead of my *local* competition?

Google Slapped My Site What Should I do?

I got Google slapped and my 30+ pages have been buried in the hundreds of pages from number one. My question, what should I do?

1) Continue to write articles and build links

2) Let the domain registration laps and move on to something else

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Adwords As A Branding Exercise

I have separated my "Search Only" and "Content Only" campaigns. and, I bid "much" lower on my "Content Only" campaigns (which have my company name in the title) reletive to my "search only" campaigns.

If I bid lower on 'Content Only' it is a pretty good deal. I get massive impressions at a very reasonable price. I don't get many clicks but it's ok because my main purpose is branding of my website by getting good impression.

And, to get branding of my website - it's really a good idea to make my company name or website visible in the first line of the ad or a catchy description which includes the name I wish to make brand.
