WebProWorld Members,

I have a fun video for you all today. I love fishing, and would maybe try Noodling, but that guy is just crazy! Especially knowing he could be speared by the fish!

Well anyways, hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Mine is a little ruined due to Kentucky losing to LSU today in the SEC tournament. :( ... But I am still happy it is the weekend! Enjoy!

Our featured post today comes from ihendo. He has a .com domain with content offered in 7 different languages. The site ranks well in the US version of Google, but the German, French, Spanish, etc. content doesn't rank so well on localized versions of Google. Is there a way to make search engines think French content on the domain.com/france/page directory is stored on the domain.fr domain? Click here!

As for the remaining posts, the first had server problems and lost tons of traffic from Google. The second needs to hide text except when the page is printed. The third wants to know how to go about getting advertisements on his site.

Domain Optimization For A Specific Language?

Domain Optimization For A Specific Language?
I have a .com domain with content offered in 7 different languages. The site ranks well in the US version of Google, but due to prioritization of local TLD's (and possibly servers) the German, French, Spanish etc content doesn't rank so well on localized versions of Google (like Google.de and Google.fr)

I own most country TLD's and have redirected them to the .com site, while this makes it easier for users to find the site but does nothing for my ranking in those countries.

Is there a way to make search engines think French content on the domain.com/france/page directory is stored on my domain.fr domain?

The site is managed by a CMS, and I want to be able to maintain control of all data through the one interface (and codebase) so setting up hosting on each domain is a no-go.

Everything Was Going Just Fine Until...

Google had been sending a couple thousand unique hits to my site a day. Then my dedicated server got hit by a bot that uploaded a Trojan site to my server.

I worked furiously to clean the server, but my host shut me down twice during the process.

Now, the traffic is down to an average of around 220 unique hits a day, but one day I'll get 1900 unique hits, then 180 the next three days in a row. Then 500 one day and it trails off to 200 or less the next few days.

On the Google dashboard my site map shows several pages of Network Unreachable URLs.

So, I Want To Hide Ttext...

On my web site, which performs fairly well in the search engines, we have found that our company logo and phone number are not displayed when pages are printed.

Management wants me to add a box to the top of every page that will contain our company name, domain name, and phone number, and then hide this box except when the page is printed.

Would adding this (albeit limited) hidden text to the site's pages potentially hurt us?
