WebProWorld Members,

Gotta love Kentucky weather... now we are back in the 40's! We were in the 70's yesterday. Winter just had to show up again. Oh well, I will just have to dream about summer for now... and my trip to the beach! :)

Our featured post today comes from mbobic. He says that for ecommerce, the need to have a resale number or tax ID, is variant, depending on the location of the business. For his online business, he found a merchant account and a distributor. But, one is asking for resale number, and the other one for tax ID. He doesn't have either. Here is why: Where he is, in Canada, sole proprietorships don't need to be registered. So how does he deal with tax ID or resale numbers? Click here!

As for the remaining posts, the first says their rankings have vanished. The second says their ads are showing up in French instead of English. The third wants to create a social network.

Do I Need A Resale Number Or Tax ID To Sell Online?
I understand that for eCommerce, the need to have resale number or tax ID, is variant, depending on the location of the business.

For my online business, I found a merchant account and a distributor. Great! However one is asking me for resale number, and the other one for tax ID. I don't have either. Here is why:

On the website for small business in British Columbia, Canada (where I am), sole proprietorship doesn't need to be registered.

So how do I then deal with tax ID or resale number? Do I use Social Insurance Number? (SIN) Someone from Canada would help me out on this topic, but if there are comparable cases in the US, please post.

Nailed By Spam?

I think I've got a major problem on my hands and I'm hoping that someone here knows what to do about it.

Most of my rankings for my key phrases have vanished completely. Whilst trying to get to the bottom of this, I've found a whole bunch of sites listed in Webmaster Tools in the 'pages with external links' section which worry me a great deal.

They are all .pl domains and each one of them returns a page saying '404 Not Found'. There are 34 of them in all.

I'd like to know how Google has associated them with my site but, more importantly, I'd like to know how to get rid of them.
