WebProWorld Members,

I know all of you were wondering if I hit the treadmill yesterday right? ;) Well, I did. Yay for me! I walked/ran (walked mostly) 2.5 miles. I was pretty happy about it. I think I am off to a good start. Today, might not do as much, but I still plan on going for a while. Gotta keep my motivation up... the beach in 10 weeks!

Our featured post today comes from texasjeff. A client wants to redirect all people from a the state of Florida to a certain page on their website regardless of the request. Jeff is worried about them losing the SEO rankings that he has built for them over the last two years. How can he make sure that he doesn't mess up their rankings? Click here!

As for the remaining posts, the first is thinking about adding words to a drop down list and doesn't know if this would be seen as a spammy technique in SE's. The second wants to know if anyone uses uSocial. The third asks about embedding YouTube videos.

Redirecting IP's From A State

Redirecting IP's From A State
A client wants to redirect all people from a specific state to a certain page on their website regardless of the request.

I do not have a problem with doing it, but I am worried about them losing the SEO rankings that I have built for them over the last two years.

The state is Florida.

How can I make sure that I do not mess up the SEO rankings?

Is there a certain tag to use?

I appreciate any help you can offer on this.

Getting Hits from Location Searches with a Drop Down List

I have a site and on there it has a drop down list in which people can use to search by a town.

It was made purely to make the user's job easier. I've found that we are getting hits to the site from keywords which include these towns.

I'm thinking of increasing the number of towns in this drop down list to hopefully increase the number of keywords that the site gets found under.

Is this seen as a spammy technique by the search engines?

Anyone Gaming Digg With USocial?

With all the fuss about uSocial (the website where you can buy votes for digg and other social media sites) has anyone here actually used them?

Although I have no interest myself in using them (it's a bit Black Hat/un-ethical for me) but I'm interested in hearing how many people around here are actually using them either by getting paid to Digg or paying to be dug.

And what are your thoughts on this service they provide?

Will YouTube Video Count Against My Homepage Size?

I want to embed a youTube video on my homepage. I have 2 questions.

1. If I embed the youTube video on my homepage, and the end user must click on it to load. Will this count against the size of my homepage?

2. My web developer says he can make the video load last. If I make it load last, will this video be counted against the size of my homepage as a whole?
