How was everyone's weekend? Good I hope. Mine was ok. Unfortunately, it is still cold here. I'm hoping it warms up soon of course. I hate being cooped up all winter! I just have to remind myself that spring isn't too far off. On we go...
Our featured post today comes from krnl. He is getting ready to register a couple of new domains and all of the main TLD's are available. He is trying to decide what to do. He could register the .net alone and create a keyword rich site that will stand in an empty genre of its own. Register all of the domains and redirect the .org and .com to .net which reserves the other TLD's if he decides to use them later. Or, he could register all three TLD's - set up the .net as in option 1 and set up the .com and .org with PPC and either leave them that way or develop them someday. What would you do? Click here!
As for the remaining posts, the first needs help getting ranked in Google. The second wants to know how to attract and keep affiliates. The third says his computer locked him out!

 New Domain -Register .com .net And .org?
I'm getting ready to register a couple of new domains and all of the main TLD's (.com, .net and .org) are available. I'm trying to decide what I want to do.
a) Register the .net alone and create a keyword rich site that will stand in an empty genre of its own (very little keyword competition)
b) Register all of the domains and redirect the .org and .com to .net which reserves the other TLD's if I decide to use them later (and keeps someone else from using them against me)
c) Register all three TLD's - set up the .net as in option 1 and set up the .com and .org with PPC and either leave them that way or develop them someday.

Thought I would showcase these amazing animals while there are still some left and teach myself .net at the same time. It's sitting on a server here in South Africa and I am worried about load time. Any comments would be welcome. Thank you.

Have a website, backpacks-usa.com, ranks very well in msn and yahoo for the generic term 'backpacks' (first page), getting bupkis out of google, can't wrap my head around this one.
ANy ideas out there?
Can anybody even FIND me for that term in google!

How Do You Attract And Keep Quality Affiliates?
Next month I will be launching a new site and I hope to have affiliate marketing as one of my major marketing strategies.
If you need any background info the site is a marketplace and takes a commision on sales. I am happy to offer affiliates up to 90% of any commisions earnt but I would prefer to keep the commision payout as low as possible. However I realised great affiliates deserve great rewards.
So my question is how do I find great affiliates. Should I use an affiliate service such as CJ or clickbank??
As affiliates what do you look for how would you get recruited?

My Computer Has Locked Me Out
my computer has locked me out. I turn it on and it simply dispays the user log in.
I am unable to get past this, other than the Xsoft spy starting up . but I am unable to do a thing once that has finished scanning.
Can anybody give me some hints on what I should be doing to get past this problem?
I am running xp pro.
Currently I am connecxted via a second computer on dial up.
