WebProWorld Members,

Happy Monday! I got all of my stuff moved this weekend. I am soooo sore! Going up and down three floors (for what felt like a thousand times) is hard work. I am just glad it is over! Hope you're weekend was better! Well on we go...

Our featured post today comes from legendsofamerica. She says her current website already has extremely rich content and is constantly growing. Should she continue to add content to the current domain or add additional domains? Her my main site has had a page rank of 5 for several years and she doesn't understand why it hasn’t increased as it grows. If she splits the site into separate domains, with linking between the sites, would there be a benefit in page rank or anything else? What might be the disadvantages? Click here!

As for the remaining posts, the first needs help finding a reliable web host in the UK. The second is having problems getting their site to show up in Firefox and IE. The third wants to know what the maximum size of a homepage should be.

Thousands of Pages vs. Multiple Websites

Thousands of Pages vs. Multiple Websites
My website, Legends of America - A Travel Site for the Nostalgic and Historic Minded is an extremely rich content site that focuses on travel destinations and history of the American West. It is constantly growing, with last year’s averages at 3,500 pages, unique visitors of 400,000 per month, and more than 30 million hits per month. We moved to a dedicated server about one year ago and with this, have no challenges.

My question is: Do I continue to add content to the current domain or add additional domains? For instance, I live in Kansas and am planning a major expansion of content on this particular state. My host assures me that I’ve plenty of room to add additional domains to the server as well as content.

However, my main site – legendsofamerica.com has had a page rank of 5 for several years and I don’t understand why it hasn’t increased as it grows. Numerous keywords for the site are rated very highly in the search engines; but, I know that advertisers look at page rank.

Were I to split out some of these states into separate domains and even a different server, with linking between the sites, would there be a benefit in page rank or anything else? What might be the disadvantages?

My husband worries that by taking content from the main site, and redirecting it to a new domain, might hurt my main site’s traffic.

Site for Review http://www.saundrahunter.com/

Hi, I know that I need to pull some of the javasript and styles into an external file (which I just how learned to do), but how does the SEO work look otherwise? I need help on this one, the site is not doing very well, and has some tremendous competition in just the Atlanta area alone.

Need A Reliable UK Web Host

After an ongoing disaster this weekend with our current hosting providers (who may get a serious name check once I've moved everything) I'm in urgent need of some suggestions for a reliable UK based web host.

We need managed Linux hosting with the usual Apache/MySQL etc and preferrably Cpanel installed. Just looking for shared hosting, don't need dedicated, but sparsely populated and speedy.

Budget is say £50 a month top whack and the key will be speed, uptime and critically technical support. We have hosted with the current mob for 2 years and when it has come to the crunch they have *seriously* let us down today. Support has been non existent.

JavaScript / CSS Problem

I am using the following script for the text scroller: argilla: aScroller. I use exactly the same set up and script on two web sites. Firefox works with this script perfectly fine but IE is giving me trouble, but only on one site.

The site where script is working fine is: St. Thomas Soccer Club, Ontario, Canada - Home of Soccerfest

The site where the same script is just cut-off once the text reaches left edge is: Ontario Futsal Association is an organization dedicated to promoting the sport of Futsal

I haven't checked it on IE7 but IE6 is definitely a problem. Again what puzzles me is the fact that it is the same script the same set up, so it looks like something else is causing the problem not the script itself.

Maximum Size A Homepage Should Be Before It Hurts SEO?

I made some changes on my homepage and used some embeded youTube videos. I noticed my homepage now takes a while to download.

It's about 822,453 bytes now. I know the size of your homepage is a variable on how google calculates your SEO. What is the maximum size you can have for a homepage before it hurts your SEO?
