WebProWorld Members,
What do you all think about all the censorship and spying that is going on because of the Olympics being in China? Do you agree with the censorship? What about the hotels monitoring guests' activity? It's kind of surprising they would decide to have the Olympics in China knowing their strict policies. What's your opinion?
Our featured post today comes from davesawers who is developing a complex AJAX application that requires him to pop up dialogs for user interaction from time to time. At present, he is building those dialogs using PHP to generate the HTML and displaying them in a div overlaid on top of the main screen. This works but there are a number of problems. Read the details and see if you can help! Click here!
As for the remaining three posts, the first needs help with a drop down menu. The second wants to know your SEO score. And the third is moving to a new host.

AJAX Dialogs
I am developing a complex AJAX application that requires me to pop up dialogs for user interaction from time to time. At present, I'm building those dialogs using PHP to generate the HTML and displaying them in a <div> overlaid on top of the main screen. This works but there are a number of problems:
1. Neither Firefox nor IE7 see these dialogs properly. Pressing the tab key never gives focus to any of the controls that are generated by AJAX and put in the div. This means you must use a mouse as well as the keyboard to use the application.
2. A dialog in a div is modeless which means that a user can click on controls in the main window. Disabling all possible controls, menu items, etc. whilst a dialog that needs to be modal is displayed is feasible but messy.

What's Your SEO Score?
Does anyone use Domain Tools (Whois lookup and Domain name search )? When you enter your domain, they provide a wealth of information about your website, including an "SEO Score".
My SEO Score is 87%. I am happy with this, since I have never really done anything special to improve my SEO other than a lot of tips that I have gotten over the years from WPW. And Google has been vedy, vedy good to me, to I can't really complain.
But it dawned on me that if I am 87% without even trying, what are some of the pro's getting? And is this relevant for, well, anything at all?

IT Discussion Forum Host Move, Best Practices?
I think if you have been in the web game for any length of time you have probably moved a site or 2.
In the past this wasn't really a big deal, I just uploaded the files to the new server, updated the DNS and went for coffee.
Now I am faced with moving a large e-commerce site. I would like to get any tips or advice on making the move as smooth as possible. How can I avoid lost orders or emails?
