WebProWorld Members,

Did everyone have a good weekend? I did. I took my little brother swimming on Saturday, then stayed at my big brother's house that night, so it was fun getting to spend time with them. And... the weather was perfect! Hopefully the weekends stay that way for the rest of the summer... one can dream right? Haha. Have a great afternoon! :)

Our featured post today comes from moonviper who feels his client's company has pretty much reached the limit as far as the SEO aspect of promoting the company's sites. He is trying to get them to undertake some different avenues, like, affiliate programs, newsletters, and other such things, but is having a very difficult time. How can he convince the owner to branch out to the other ways of promotion? Click here of you have an idea!

As for the remaining three posts, the first needs suggestions on maintaining one CMS for multiple websites. The second has some questions about PPC ads and Google. And the third says they suddenly disappeared from Google.

Looking At Other Areas Than SEO
Looking At Other Areas Than SEO

I work with a company that is relatively new to the internet (just over a year) and was hired on to facilitate their expansion. In the course of this year, we've built over 170 different sites for this company. We've gotten really good SEO results, and have managed to get top ten placement on literally thousands of keywords that actually matter (and several, of course, that never get searched).

Now that I feel we've got a pretty good handle on the SEO aspects of this company's business, I'm finding that doing more optimization only brings small results. (I'll get another search term to the top, and get maybe 5 more visitors per day, etc) I feel we've pretty much reached the limit, as far as the SEO aspect of promoting this company's sites, and I'm trying to convince them to undertake some other avenues like, affiliate programs, newsletters, and other such things, but am having a very difficult time.

The answer I get from the owner of the company is that he just wants "a few more" things done, which are SEO related. I've been working with this company for over a year now, and have a partnership stake in it. I've got over 10 years experience on the internet, while the owner of the other company couldn't even send an email a couple of years ago.

I'd feel great if you could review my new blog which was started by me couple of months back. I am ready to hear and implement your suggestions. Thanks!

Multiple Websites / ONE CMS

I am seeking to implement a system whereby I can maintain one CMS and define content to multiple websites. I think such a system would be very useful to create a lot of content relatively quickly/cheaply, would permit crafting niche websites targeted to slightly less popular products and would overall be a boon by reducing content management time.

Any thoughts on this topic would be appreciated...

Google PPC Blocked by Hosts.txt

Elsewhere in this forum, someone mentioned a HOSTS.txt file that blocks 90+ percent of ad and crapware sites, including those annoying popups, sites with viruses, spyware, etc. It is located at mvps.org, and has been very cool. I smiled as the most ads didn't even download, simply showing "Page cannot be displayed" in the ad space. Pop under/overs went away (even the ones my other software missed), and page load times improved.

I find that a little while ago, I can no longer click on a PPC ad! - Turns out some of Google's Adservers are on this HOSTS File.

Easy fix- just delete the data from MVPS from the hosts.txt file, (or delete the Google entries)

Moreover, if other users have this HOSTS file, and click on my ad, am I charged for it, even though it is blocked by HOSTS? When does the charge count? When it is clicked, or when the page is delivered?

Suddenly Disappeared From Google

My Site suddenly disappeared from Google overnight.

northcoastcomputerservices dot com

I had been getting Google first/second page placements on searches for "hp coupons", "dell coupons" and the like. I had, the day before, made a couple of minor changes to some H2's - like from "Specials and Savings" to "Computer Deals" - but nothing radical.

Suddenly at about 8:00pm last night I disappeared totally and have not even gotten 1 hit today - usually 75 to 100 hits a day.
