Yesterday I found out that my brother and his wife are having a little girl. I am so excited! I didn't have a preference between a boy and a girl but I am glad to know finally. Now I get to buy all kinds of pink things! No worries though, I will still teach her how to play football. ;)
Our featured post today comes from inertia who is looking for advice on what to do with the skills he has gained in the music industry, along with the SEO industry. He is struggling to come up with ideas which combine these skill sets into a usable service/product which he can bring under one site and maybe monetise in the future. Any ideas are welcome. As for the remaining three posts, the first wants to know, once a site goes down, how long before Google will give up on it completely? The second wants advice on the best ways to find niche forums. And the third has a question about internal link value.

 Where Do I Go From Here?
Orite people, ive posted this around a few forums but not had much response. Any tips would be appreciated.
For the few years that ive been into the SEO game i have never really done much "work" for myself or created my own site/online profile (there's the hip hop one in my signature - but that's a mess that isnt doing my skills any justice). All the work I do or online interaction I'm involved in has benefited the company or the clients I'm currently work for.
Im getting to the point now where i want to employ my knowledge for a personal project but I'm having a bit of trouble thinking of an idea which encompasses all of my skills.

How Long Will Google Wait?
A client and friend of ours has been backed into a bad position by their (incredibly unprofessional Ibiza-based) web company here, who orginally built their site for them nearly 3 years ago.
An awful lot of money was paid for a pretty but very badly performing site which when I started working on it 10 months ago was lucky to be receiving 5 visits a week. over this time we have dragged it up the charts until its now appearing first page for several of their big terms and has been generating business and referrals steadily for a good while now
All sounds good yes? well, except that in a financial dispute over hosting & maintenance rates, they just shut the site off 2 days ago, now showing 404 errors.

I recently received a link from a pr6 .gov.au website which I am very happy about, however it is linked to an internal page. My question is will this link only be value to the page it is pointing to, or will it benefit my homepage as well?
