WebProWorld Members,

It's Friday and that means a baseball game tonight and seeing friends and family tomorrow, plus Mother's Day on Sunday of course. Hopefully, the rain holds off for the game tonight, although it isn't looking good as of now. Oh well. I'm sure they'll play anyways... I just might not sit out in it. Hope you guys have a happy weekend!

Our featured post today comes from mjw, who has wants to know where to 'place' the SEO profession? MJW says that SEO seems to be a mixture of marketing and web design, but not fully involved in either. What is your opinion? Click here!

As for the remaining three post, the first has a question about campaigns, keywords, and geo targeting. The second wants to know pricing for ad space. And the third has some questions on affiliate marketing .

Where To 'Place' The SEO Profession?
Where To 'Place' The SEO Profession?

I'm an IT student on a work placement, my managers are having me do research on SEO.

Having no prior knowledge on the subject I started surfing the web and scouring forums, and so came to start an account here.
I've been following threads in this forum for three weeks and learned a lot in the process, you've really got me hooked on the subject now!

Why I started this thread is because I have some trouble 'placing the profession'.

From what I've been reading, SEO seems to be a mixture of marketing & web design, but not fully involved in either.

Campaigns - Same Keywords - Different Geo Targeting

I was just curious to know whether it is possible to have two different campaigns with same ad groups, keywords and ads but targeting different locations.

Reason why I want to have a setup like that is I learned that keywords targeting North America, most importantly the US are costlier than the one targeting Europe and Asian markets.

So, I was planning to have one campaign target the US market while another market target Europe and Asian market but have the same ad groups and keywords.

Can anyone can educate me on this ??

How Much Should I Charge For Ad Space?

Someone recently asked if I would display their text link ad on my website, Dental Insurance Plan (DIP) UK but I wasn't sure how much I should charge. Can anyone give me any advice?

The guy just wants a small one line text link, probably on every page.

What sort of price do you think I should charge?

Affiliate Marketing Discussion Forum
Looking Into Affiliate Marketing For My Sites

After debating it, and saying no, I am now thinking that I should investigate affiliate marketing for my websites.

My sites deal with general news, entertainment, books, health, construction, business, food and drink, ecology/green issues, gardening, household, beauty/fashion, Technical matters, education, parenting, Christmas, Real estate and public relations.

Are there any affiliate programmes with something for all or any of the above?
