WebProWorld Members,

Finally Thursday! That means, I get to leave work early tomorrow and go to Keeneland with everyone here at iEntry. It is a really fun day, hanging out with everyone and betting on horses, plus the food and drinks of course. Hopefully the rain will hold off until the racing is over. :) Well on with the update...

Our featured post today comes from janeth, who brings up the issue of duplicate content. She disagrees with most of the information being posted about it. Since this seems to be a pretty heavily discussed topic I thought I would get more opinions. So, to read the details and give your two cents, click here!

As for the remaining three post, the first wants to know should you fix it if it's not broken? The second wants to know how to track performance in adsense. And the third has a question about typos be considered as "spam".

Articles Are Not Duplicate Content
Articles Are Not Duplicate Content

I've seen a lot of people post on forums about duplicate content and I disagree with the information being posted.

I've got a blog about lawn mowers and since I know nothing about lawnmowers I went to some free article sites and got free information and stuck on my blog. Those articles rank on the major search engines and bring in traffic. I created another site about silicone wristbands and again used free articles for the information. Those articles are starting to rank and bring traffic into that site.

Duplicating an entire site when you are also duplicating the code would be a problem. However if you are posting an article onto an existing site then your code and links are different and the site is not duplicated. Not only will that post rank but if you put enough links to it will out rank the original article. I've seen it happen and I've also seen one article rank right behind another.

Site for Review http://www.whyilovechicago.com/

I've had WhyILoveChicago.com up for about a year now, and I've decided it was time for a slight redesign. I created a new main logo, and I was hoping for some feedback.

Should You Fix It If It's Not Broken?

I have started freelance work recently and have acquired a couple of sites whose SEO and off page marketing I'm responsible for. These sites are doing well, good SERPs, good PR, good traffic etc.

Although these sites are doing well they have not been built or maintained with SEO in mind and as a result they are a bit spammy. I wont go into the full list of problems.

Now... I am in a situation where i could send the webmasters a HUGE email detailing all the things i want them to change and spend the next few months sorting the sites out. But... they already rank for most of their top keywords. So... what should i do? I can see three options:

Can Using Typos Be Considered As "Spam"?

Quoting from a different "thread", kgun suggest that targetting typos as "keywords" may be considered as spam. This was a bit off topic, and think the point deserves a thread on its own.

Quote: The point is not what "advanced xsl" is about really, but the number of people who wonder what the heck "advanced xsl" is all about. Get about 30 hits a day for this phrase.

but this is a bit off topic, isn't it?
