Happy April Fool's Day! Did you get the chance to prank anyone today? Google has always played some jokes in the past and this year was no exception. Also, here is a list of Top 100 April Fools Hoaxes for you to enjoy reading. And I ran across this site that has some pranks you can play on your co-workers. Have fun! :)

Our featured post today comes from janeth, who ask if you think SEO standards are needed. This post is obviously a little different than usual since it isn't asking for direct help on a site, but instead is a debate going on in the SEO world right now. To read more and contribute your two cents, click here!

As for the remaining three post, the first needs help moving mysql database. The second has a cloaking issue. And the third says Geo Redirection has lost his site.

Do We Need SEO Standards?
Do We Need SEO Standards?

Bruceclay.com - We Do Need SEO Standards

We Don't Need SEO Standards!

I would have to disagree with Lisa and agree with Jill on this one.

1. There are too many ways of skinning the SEO cat.
2. We can't even agree on the definition of search engine optimization.
3. There are already laws to protect people from SEO scam.
4. There's no such thing as "cheating" in SEO.

Even if you did set up standards how in the world would you make them mean anything.

Site for Review http://www.villasinkefalonia.com/

Ok Guys and Girls please feel free to tear this web site apart. It's one of mine, and I am too long in the tooth to take offence! I am about to add a few properties to it so whilst the site is being revamped I may as well get it right.

Need To Move Mysql Database

I recently moved from a shared server to a dedicated server at lunarpages. I only needed the dedicated server for a couple of days, so I had all of my files copied from my shared server across to my dedicated server.

I am now going back to the shared server, but before I change my name servers I need to copy the recent mysql databases from the dedicated server back to the shared server. My hosting company originally did this for me, but I can not make contact with them. I have left messages and email over the last 3 days but no luck.

Cloaking Issues With Disclaimer Page

I'm hoping to get some expert advice of some technical SEOs out there. :)

I'm currently working on a build project for a financial company. Due to regulations here in the UK it is necessary that when getting to any of the product pages, the user needs to read and accept a disclaimer, which will automatically produced. Will this not hinder the pages from being indexed in google and my client could essentially face be de-indexed from Google.

Anyone's input would be greatly appreciated!

Geo Redirection Has Lost My Site

I have created a duplicate site of a clients that now not only beats the old site, but the old site has disappeared completely from Googles listings.

I put in Geo redirect for US visitors to be directed to the .com site

However, the .co.nz site is still available to all others.

Has doing this prevented googles bots from reaching it and therefore deleting the site from the serps?
