WebProWorld Members,
March Madness has finally hit me! I just filled out my bracket and it feels like a winner. For the past couple of years in my local pool, I have come out victorious. And this year shouldn't be any different. I am a huge University of Kentucky fan and I bleed blue. I can't wait to see an SEC team upset Duke and UNC. Let me know some of your March Madness stories!
Our featured post today comes from chandrika. She is having some weird stats show up on her website. She has no 302 redirects set up on her site, but on her stats she has been seeing 31586 hits 77% being 302 temp redirects. She would really like some advice on why this is happening to her site, www.findallsorts.com.
As for the remaining posts, the first asks how do you finalize 'target keywords and phrases'? The next post is having some search results problems, and is wondering how to make her site climb the Google rankings? Our final post today asks what is the deal with directories and why do we need them?

302 Redirect Stats
Looking at my website stats I am seing something odd.
I have no 302 redirects set up on my website at all and yet in my stats I am seeing 31586 hits 77% being 302 temp redirects.
I am feeling very uneasy about a few things I have spotted in the SE recently, as someone is using some script that seems to be scraping my site.
This can be seen in the results here:
php? www.findallsorts.com - Google Search
Where a couple of sites have some script thing going on involving my website, the listed pages they have do not actually exist, just seem to be doing something from my site findallsorts.com.
Would this explain all the 302s in my stats and does anyone have any advice on this.

Search Engine Optimization Forum How Do You Finalize 'Target Keywords and Phrases'?
In case I plan to optimise my site for specific keywords or phrases. How do I make sure that the keywords (or phrases) I am working on, are actually common among users to get to a site like mine?
I am working on my company site, and we are providing IT services in the united arab emirates. Should I just follow guess work or is there any way to figure out the searching trends of people for things they are looking for? I hope my question is clear.
Waiting for your replies :=)

Google Discussion Forum Search Results Problem?
Our website, Panama City Metro, has been active since 2001. It goes back and forth on Yahoo between #4 and #24 for Panama City Florida, depending on how often we change the design. We have a lot more trouble on Google - it was up to #9, and today is at #54!
I understand some of the higher ranked sites, since they are done by professionals and have a tremendous number of links. While I have let our links slide while doing the redesign and setting up the print newspaper version, but some of them I can't figure out. One that has been on the first page of google for the past month is a site that has not been updated in over a year, has few links, and most of the site is a direct copy (including pictures and direct code copies) of our site 4 years ago!
Could someone give me an idea of where I am going wrong as far as getting listed better with google again? Is there somewhere I can check to see if I have broken a rule of theirs in some way?

Other Engines/Directories Who Needs A Directory?
Sorry, but what does anybody need a directory for? Why do all these guys create directories? To put some google links in and earn $3 in six months???
I really don't get it. At least we make money with our regular homepages. But what can someone make (earn) with a directory?
Maybe we should also put a directory on the web... but what is it used for?
