Default Selling My Gardening Website

I've been building GardenListings for almost 2 years. Its been fun but I don't think I have the time to take it to the next level (adding a garden supply store). The content is original and I get decent traffic and excellent search engine rankings. I spend no money on ppc. Adding more articles and essays is simple.

More info here: sedo.com - The domain gardenlistings.com is available for purchase.

Thanks.

Can anyone suggest a way to market a website that's for sale.

riverbirch,

Looks like the CSS isn't loading for SitePoint : New Articles, Fresh Thinking for Web Developers and Designers at the moment, but you can list your site here:

SitePoint Marketplace

Nice site, but I find the page rank at PR3....

Somewhat on the low side.

I had thought I had sold it on Sedo last week for an amount is was pleased with. I've heard nothing from them or the mystery buyer. I think the buyer might have one more day before the transaction is cancelled. I'm beginning to think Sedo's claim that a site is guaranteed to sell after an auction is B.S. I've read quite a bit about unhappy Sedo sellers.

Anyways in addition to what I posted originally:

I've been building GardenListings.com for almost 2 years. Its been fun but I don't think I have the time to take it to the next level (adding a garden supply store). The content is original and I get decent traffic and excellent search engine rankings. I spend no money on ppc. Adding more articles and essays is simple.

Here's more info:

Subscriptions through my RSS feed (which are available through FeebBurner, FeedCraft and WidgetBox) is 100+. I’ve set up 2 Google Gadgets for feed the as well. These are seen 16,000 time each week. Google doesn’t report actual subscription, only the page views.

Also, GardenListings has a good web presence (1044 Yahoo Back Links) and great search engine rankings. For example, the site is on the 1st page of results for the following (plus a bunch more):

Yahoo: White Gardens
Google: Small Garden Design
MSN: Garden Guides

Visitors come from (approx.):

68% Google
20% Yahoo
7% MSN

PM me an offer as I think the Sedo deal has fallen though.

There's no price listed on SEDO. The site looks nice and I might be interested in buying it because you're registered through GoDaddy and a transfer won't disrupt the existing pagerank.

How much per month have you been making from the site? That's a very important factor in determining a selling price.

Why not just tell us how much you want and how much the site earns from Adsense?

I can only gather than he's really not interested in selling his site much since he has not responded. I was wondering too...hope the guy isn't sick or something!

I'd almost be interested but with no traffic details or current revenue there's not enough information to make an informed decision.

The site itself has plenty of good content but it's coded badly and isn't particularly well designed - after buying it you'd have to redesign and add in a CMS to make it work - then find some good affiliates to sell through to increase revenue.

Perhaps a partnership rather than outright buyout? That way you get the obvious gardening knowledge base of "riverbirch" added to the extra marketing and SEO knowledge of a web professional combining to create a site that could become a large and informative gardening community.

If you integrate with Joomla or Drupal, add in a forum and get a database feed from a good gardening supplier you've got a lot of potential.
