Hi folks. My name is Eamonn A. Sweeney. I am a 40 year old programmer from Co. Donegal in Ireland.
I am seeking in the region of 20-25 hours work per week with an established web development firm.

I have over 23 years programming experience and have been working as a freelance webdeveloper for the past eight years. My skillset includes C, C++, PHP, MySQL, CSS, Xhtml and Linux server administration/hardening.
I do not work with any microsoft technologies.

I want to cut back on my working hours to allow me to concentrate on some personal projects alas this was not suitable to the company I was working with as they need a fulltime developer so I am posting here in the hope that someone has extra work that they can outsource to me each week.

I do not want to be dealing with clients or doing design (though I do design as a last resort), what I would like is to be sent a few psd's, images and content for a few sites each week which I will code in valid css/xhtml with all necessary forms/validation, user management etc.

All my code is formatted to the Kernaghan & Ritchie style and well commented. I am extremely security conscious (read paranoid ;) ) I initialize all variables, trust nothing submitted by a user and never use global variables. My CSS and XHTML will all validate without warnings.

I have my own gallery and real estate scripts and am intimately familiar with phpbb.

I develop in the LAMP (linux, apache, mysql, php) environment. My OS is Slackware. I hand code in the kate text editor (that's not an egotistical statement, I just know what I am doing and do not need the functionality of wysywig editors or integrated ide's). I have photoshop running under crossover office and a 3Mb broadband connection. I can be reached via Aim, MSN, and ICQ.

I keep all php code seperate from html via a small templating class, and presentation seperate from layout via external css.

My portfolio. Simply put I do not have one. All my work is copyright of the various firms I have worked for over the years and subject to non disclosure agreements. Therefore I am making a unique offer so as prospective employers may assess my skills.

The offer is as follows. You can send me a psd and all images/fonts/content needed for a single site (up to 10 pages) and I will turn it into a tableless, css, xhtml1.1 valid website. Or if you prefer I can take your current website (again subject to a 10 page maximum) and give it's code a makeover if it needs it.
All at no charge, yes nothing, it won't cost you a cent to take up this offer. If you like my work/code/methodologies then we can negotiate an hourly rate or set hours/wage per week for future work.

This is a good opportunity for a firm who may be great designers but lack programming skills or just do not have time to handle clients and do the work currently on their books. As always I am willing to sign non disclosure agreements and all my work becomes the copyright of the hiring company. I place no information in comments/code that can be traced back to me and the work will not appear under a portfolio, to all intents and purposes the work will appear to have been carried out by you.

This offer is only open to those who have been WPW members for at least a year and you must have a design portfolio of not less that 20 websites, all must be valid urls, no images of sites that are either currently offline or never launched. You must be based in either Europe, U.S.A, or Canada.
