I know that you can have webpages to long. How do you know if a webpage is to long. I have a website just under 2000 pages. I have 20 catigories links that brake off into a sub catigory page. On each sub catigory page i have links broken down to a spacific catigory (such as Nokia Cell Phones, Sony Cell Phones, Motorola cell phones and so on) I have an average of 7 to 9 sub catigories on a page. I feel i am ok up till here for page size. Heres where i need some help. When you click on a subcatigory link that pulls up a page that has up to 30 products on that one page. I have alot of them that have over 15 products on a page. How do i Know how many products to put per page. I know i have to brake thes pages up into smaller pages. Is there a page checker that i could use to check these pages. Is there someone that could tell me how about the way thy would do it. Any help would be helpfull. Heres a link to see one of the pages that i am talking about this one has 32 products oSale Gift Box Knife Deer Eagle Wolf John Deer Tractor Indian Bear Thanks

mpb200 I took a look at this page.Sale Model: kb7658 John Deer Tractor Gift Box Knife I think this is a 'More info page"
I think the page linking to this page with 32 products is not too many. I would be more concerned about the page title, I think the 'more info page' title would be better something like John Deer Tractor Gift Box Knife to confirm/ match the link your navigation is easy to follow. I do not think the size of the pages is a problem. the title of your image gives search engines a hint about page content http://www.peeknsave.com/knives_swor...kb20w2_med.jpg An image link worded like /winter-wolf-pack-gift-knife-jpg would be more effective I think you have the navigation basically about right. You basically need to funnel users and search engines to the "More info pages" you do that O.K. . . You do need to ad some finesse and style and a more compressed layout and save your users a bit of scrolling. Then just ad all and any original content you can lay your hands on to the 'More info pages'

I have often heard that a good size page for SEO purposes is about 300 words; though this is a very ballparkish type answer; I don't know if SEO matters to you much here.

With this i think you are concerned more about user experience than about SEO
I personally do not hang around webpages where I have to scroll and scroll to find what I am looking for Also people tend to move on quickly if they don't find the product they are looking for within so many seconds of landing on your page So I would suggest a page length that involves little scrolling And if your pages have to be of such length that you have products below the fold of the page, I would suggest you put your bestselling or most searched for products above the fold of the page

Personally I feel it depends on the visitor. When I checked out that page if I were interested in a knife box seeing that many choices to choose from would be a very good thing. I think that you shouldn't worry to much about the size of your sub pages if they are filled with content your visitors are searching for.
