Well let's say your site is about bass fishing for example and of course you will have at the top heading 1 = you main targetted keyword. Next you will want to place a h2 tag above parts of your content. If the h2 tag is about fishing line then you will want your content under the article to reflect that. When using headings make sure to keep them on the same topic per page. Such as your index should be about bass fishing and your h2 and h3 headings should not differ to much. If one of your sub pages is about fishing line then you will want both your headings and content to reflect as such. Anyway I hope this was what you were looking for.

head tag is very important for the site.. Its effecting ranking also.. Should not be very large and try to include the keywords and at the same time make it attractive

Ok, If I am reading your post correctly, and you are asking about what is between the <head> and </head> tags then every message above this one is garbage. Ignore them.

In between the <head> and </head> tags are a number of things you can use, but the main ones you will care about are quite simply:

<title> </title>
<meta name="keywords" content="" />
<meta name="description" content="" />

and the metas are really not even needed nowadays.

williamc you are correct that is what i was tring to ask. I realize tittle, discription, keywords. Would you place them in the order you have them. And your saying nothing else is important between the <head> and </head> tag. How about the charset iso-8859-1 where should that go. Thanks

The charset would also go between the head tags, but is not needed rankings wise.
