This forum is a great resource.
Read the threads. Sometimes it will seem arcane and then all of a sudden it makes sense I firmly believe that you can't cheat. The Search Engines will punish you. Content is the most important thing but don't forget page titles. Make them clean and clear Read Matt Cutts Blog, he works at Google and gives great advice. A good book is "Search Engine Optimization an Hour a Day" I have several sites but my main one is a niche site selling Confetti. If we can get good search postition with such an obscure product anyone can. SEO is fun and frustrating, it's rewarding if you do the work. No offense but this is always something that cracks me up because most non- SEO types think of SEO as an afterthought. perhaps you did not intend to phrase it that way but that is the way it sounds. For truly effective SEO, you should be consulting with someone from the outset as far as site structure and a myriad of other things to do with SEO, before, not after.
Anyway with regards to your question. Lots of hard work on forums, maybe a press release, lots of social media sites and social bookmarking etc - there is no silver bullet... diversify your efforts and take a multi-pronged approach is my suggestion. |

It depends how good you are on promoting your website. I think if you are an easy-learner type, you can include your site for about quarter a year. That is possible if you can have a good resources after you start promoting or optimizing your website.

Thanks for the discussion; I was able to glean some precious insights from this thread. I have optimized my page; we have yet to launch the site; then the real mccoy sets in. I'm not expecting to achieve results that soon, but I'm patiently waiting...
