Default Quick Links in Search Engines

Hi all,

I belive what I am refering to is called a "quick link" but I could be completely wrong.

When you search for my site (Free Online Tennis Lessons | TopspinSports Videos, Lessons, Tips from Pros) in google or yahoo I would like the "contact us" and "about us" and other relavent sections of the site to appear as links below. (I really hope someone knows what I am talking about).

I believe that search engines have algorithms to to find this information on your site. How can I let search engines know the navigation of my site so that I can get those links to appear.

Is there something I am doing wrong?

Please Help! (and if I explained that wrong, please let me know).

THANKS

Cool Re: Quick Links in Search Engines

Hi Topspinsports,

I assume you are referring to Site Links on Google, which appear in some results just below their #1 organic spot. I suggest you install Google Webmaster tools, which has a section on Site Links including the ability to veto links if you are eligible. The catch is this feature is initially deactivated at the onset. In addition to having a sound web site, I believe your must rank in the top placement for a prominent keyword with a decent number of searches to become eligible. Your keyphrase, "Free Online Tennis Lessons | TopspinSports Videos, Lessons, Tips from Pros", probably has zero searches except your own and won't cut it. To achieve your goal, try traditional SEO techniques such as improving site content, structure and Link Popularity. In the mean time, Yahoo offers a paid inclusion feature, which allows you to have total control of select URL listings and sub-links, known as "Quick Links". This is blended in with organic results and is offered on a flat CPC model. While there is no guarantee on placement and it could supercede your existing organic placements, if sublinks are your desire, this is one solution. Hope this helps!

I think Googles needs to determine as well if your site is authoritative enough for a keyword to have those links included in the SERPs.
