Just a note,

The monetization/typosquatting of .com by Cameroon .cm was discussed on the SEO 101 podcast 7 March.

They have a special system. The typos are actually not registered. They government are using a special system that generates sites/pages on the fly for domains that have not been registered yet. So apple.cm need not be registered but when someone tries to go there you get a parked site/page with ads. It's different from domain parking because domain parking requires that the domain was actually registered.
