I would go for - "This is normal, as my website could have been featured on lots of news sites and Google puts me on page 1"
8 links are very normal so you need not worry about that. You will not get any kind of penalty. |
|
|||
|
I also wouldn't worry too much about 8 links - it doesn't scream "automated process" or "scam" to me

8 links should be fine. It is when you start going for the large number if links within a short period is when you have to worry

ehhh they're not going to 'ban you'
If you were to get a large amount of links, Google will DEVALUE the links which is NOT a penalty. For example.. You're on page 10 with 10 backlinks You get 90 backlinks and go to page 1 Google finds out that the 90 are paid/3way linking ..... so they devalue the links and you NATURALLY go back to page 10 now the question is.....how/when will they find out? they can find out a lot sooner if someone reports you

yes, your site will be crawled very soon, and since you say that the links are from relevant niche are of quality, it will definitely help you in longer run

Google is not going to penalize you for links. That's just silly. People confuse weight with penalties. Choosing to weight one link higher than another is not a penalty. It's just normal fluctuations from their algorithm. Get as many links as you can, all the time. It will only help you in the long run. Google will weight them differently over time but you are NOT going to be worse off with the links, than if you never had the links in the first place.

You'll not be penalized, but it's known that 8 links at the same time are generally not worht the same than 8 links over a longer period of time.

And, such penalty is not imposed owing to the rate at which IBLs are acquired; at worst, such will simply be discounted, so that no benefit will accrue from them. |

I do not recall ever having one link pointed toward my site with a PR of five - So naturally I have absolutely no experience of having eight of them pointed at my site. ( apart from reading what has been posted on the topic)
So Clearly I have no idea. I am also not convinced that all of the posters above know much more than I do. I think I shall wait until fulleffect reports on the final results.

i suggest pointing all of the links to my site instead - it won't help you rank well, but will give you a warm fuzzy feeling inside cos u helped a brother out!

deep asks
"How 'bout 40 PR 1s? " Lol. We do have members that would regularly gather together high value links as part of their daily duties. These members would probably know how many links it takes for a tough keyword. They might also know if a High PR site is likely to stay high PR. My experience is restricted . . . Sometimes a little voice in my head tells me to 'Shut Up' when I only 'know' what I have read others write, fully understanding that mostly they write what they have read.

So I understand the whole rationale behind Page Rank to be a kind of democratic vote system where other sites validate the value of the destination site...
Let's so I invent & manufacture the first set of working X-RAY SPECS with the aim of selling them to the public (young boys!) etc. I'm pretty sure you'd get a raft of quality inbound links to your X-RAY SPECS website as soon as it was live. Why would there ever be a situation where Google engineer punishment into the system for a natural spike in interest? I'm sure breaking news stories and the like get similar spikes?? If you have interesting, original content that pulls in links, then I'd be happy about it! |
|
|||
|
as my accountant told me... "pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered"... which in this case means that getting 8 (or 40) inbound links in 1 day is no cause for alarm... getting hundreds (especially with all the same anchor text etc.) would send up the red flag
