A real person might see the link and click on it... find of interest & tell another person.
The more places your information is in the more visits to your site you are lightly to get.

its not always matter of link my dear, its also matter of Traffic and if you submit very good link people will share with each other and it will increase popularity of your site , if you just want to have just back link for your site then there is also lot of dofollow social media sites and other kind of dofollow sites too, like directories, forums, blogs

Rather than using those sites you can go with manual social bookmarking. By natural method, you can write good quality title and descriptions without any repetition.

Social bookmarking can gain so much traffic if used in the right way, the second you have something interesting about your site, something new, or something that is relevant to someone go post it in the relevant categories and youll notice traffic come from social bookmarks. Just remember relevancy is so key, people ignore non-relevance very well!

I would like to do the social bookmarking manually. I can put my title and keywords in a better way. Rules for every bookmarking site is not same and even the lenght and character of title and keywords vary for many sites.

thats all very good and well, but do you have a list of social bookmark sites you have signed up to and that you post from? with sites like socialmarker you can adapt and change the information before you submit them, it simply allows you to not have to fill in the main info like url's etc for each submission.

I agree 100%, they help a little but nothing to write home about.

I also bookmark sites that link to me, it helps to give them a small boost and in return gives my site a little more of a boost.

The important thing is that the program has told you the NAME of all the different sites so you can post manually to the ones you did not know existed before.... free of charge!

As with all good things, use them in moderation or the bookmarking service will drop your account.

I've found that if 90% of the links I post are just good fun links, then my own links (or clients) get hidden as being for "SEO only".

Janeth - This is a great piece of advice - and something that I think a lot of people leave out of when doing a link building campaign. Google may have never indexed the page that links to you, so bookmarking it is a great way to bring that site (and your link) to their attention.

I seldom use social bookmarking site. As far as I known, almost all of them offer nofollow backlinks. What they can help is increasing the exposure of your site. Correct me if I am wrong.
