Twitter Monetizing

Does anyone has ever used twitter such as selling ads space or putting some banners or affiliate links, in against to earn money? Does it give a good payoff? If yes somebody has used then how many followers do you have and how much do you earn? Too many question I guess, but I am wondering do people abuse twitter in that sense for getting money?

It can.. I'm working with a few people that are making real sales directly from Twitter.. But the balance between selling and simply being a whore is a delicate one..

I don't think there is an available space where you can put your banners
or affiliate links.. twitter only have the shout out type to share your ideas
and stuff and it was through link nothing more nothing less..

I think there will be more opportunities for Twitter Monetizing soon. Firstly, social netwarks didn't use ads and other sources of income. And now they get big money.

Placing ads on what? I don't really think you can place ads on twitter?? That might result to your account being banned.
