Whats better, SEO, PPC, Imporoving Page Rank or other market

Hey guys,

I'm carious over something.

I've read a lot online that many people think it is important to have good page rank while others think its not important. Is it important, if so what would be the best way to improve rankings?

Secondly is SEO more efficient than Pay-Per-Click campaigns? i.e/ Google Edwards etc or would is it better to focus more on other forms of marking such as directory submissions, affiliate marketing etc etc or is there a better way to market you site online if you have low budget to spend

Hope to here what you guys think as this is an issue many people talk about and what you guys provide here i guess will help me as well as many other people reading or wanting to know the best way to improve there sites traffic

you must get link juice from other sites to get up on google serp as well as get good page rank

I'm not sure that you can decide the order of usefulness and/or effectiveness.
In fact, depending on your budget and what sort of return you're after, they can all play a part and it's not ill-advisable to pay (in time and effort, as well as dollars) for every one of them.
You do, of course, need to get some measure of the separate returns, not to mention the differences among them, but I have difficulty in deciding that a particular one is outstandingly better than the others.

Firstly, PageRank is an indication of the importance of your website. A website with a PR 1 may rank much higher than a PR 4. Search results consider the relevance first in displaying the search results. Under the conditions that everything remains equal, the web page with a higher importance factor (i.e, PR) will outrank the other. Building PageRank is a long term dedication.

SEO is not a guaranteed process. It works on the PageRank algorithm of which little knowledge is known. While you may still leverage SEO knowledge to enhance your visibility, there is nothing you could do to actually stay nailed to where you want.
That's where PPC has its advantage. You choose to display yourself only when people asks for it, i.e, your ads are highly targeted and therefore you stand chances of higher conversion and ROI. PPC results are measurable to an extent and results are drawn immediate.

Every website SEO process needs different mindset. Based on what you want to accomplish you then set priorities and assign weight on On-Site, Off-site, PPC… etc. And don’t forget testing what works best for you.

SEO to me will always be the one area that is the best shot to a good quality success of the website. Making sure you try to make your site search engine friendly, optimised, good structure, good content and user friendly is the best thing you can do in terms of long term, and this is all to do with SEO.

But, PPC is good way to get the initial traffic whilst you are doing the SEO, and whilst waiting for things to be indexed and fall into place.

SEO and PPC and all of the other things have a place, but in my opinion, good SEO in the long term is where you should be heading, as should us all I guess.

To me, high SERPS is everything, PR is a reflection of your dedication to SEO and validation to what you are doing is paying off. I look at PR has not the be all end all, but a reflection of the current state of affairs when it comes to you employing SEO to build quality links and make your site show up organicaly.

It all depends on the site and the goals. PPC is a good short term method of driving traffic to your site but long term I would go for seo as it is far more cost effective. If you end a ppc campaign you disappear off the face of the earth. If page rank is important to you then seo is your answer, however I would not worry about this. Concertrate on improving your serps through ethical seo methods and PR will come naturally.

I think that SEO is the best option: as it will increase organic traffic which is free and the most targeted traffic.

Page rank is just one of the 200 factors that Google consider while ranking a site. So only improving PR will not help to get traffic.

If you are a serious business, I do not think you can start with just one. You would need to start SEO as a primary as it takes the longest to secure placements. You need PPC as a primary to get traffic immediately and stay in business while the SEO is running its course. The good thing is, as the rankings for the multitude of keywords are attained, you can ween off the PPC slowly, saving yourself money.

I agree, if you have the buy-in and resources, start all of them ... however we all know that this scenario does not apply too often in RL

If you have a lot of advertising budget then go for SEO and PPC simultaneously. SEO will give you long term results whereas PPC will give instant results.
