Are you talking about the site in your signature?
It is in the Google index:
http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...database%2Ecom
Its only partially indexed, which means Google either can not or will not properly crawl your site.
I can find no links to your site. Without links you do not get indexed in Google.

I find seven links to your site and as CBP noted your site is in the database but not yet spidered, but can find no special reason that the site should not be spidered.
I suggest that you wait a week or so and if the situation does not improve check back again

Google links
Hi I checked and your site is indexed by google but the only site that has any reference to you is infovision.com and yourself.
I had a look at your site and you will find it pretty hard with what you have to get any sort of ranking.
First thing is to clean up your code. Get all of your style code linked to your main.css.
It is just taking up space in the code.
Where possible link your javascript. I see you are using DW so the mmfunction code should be linkable.
Use the alt tags on some of your images better. Such as your logo. Just repeat your title. (Web Design Database - Web Site) I would change your title to Web Design Database - Bringing web developers and clients together.
On your main pages and link pages there is very little content. I know it is in development but there is nothing to stop you explaining to visitors what is going to be on that page so that they come back later. It also allows the spiders to compare content.
Next get listed on DMOZ #1 priority
Hope that helps a bit

Stupid question - how do you tell if google has indexed you site, and how much?

Google
Simply type in your url in a Google search. If you are in the google database your site will be picked up, if it is not you will be given the option of more searches ie webs sites containing, web site linking.
As far as I can tell until you are indexed on two of the databases you will not get a ranking as google works by comparing the two and then all three.
You can end up with three different ranks according to which database you are on, which is why you might pick up,drop a couple of places or disappear depending on how your renking is perceived relative to the database in use.
That is just my reading of the situation. The general review is carried out every 4 - 6 weeks when the spiders get round to completing there search.
I do not no how you can tell how you are ranked through google alone but there are other sites out there that do monitor the change overs.
