Submit it more to other article directories to build more links. You may google it out for the list of top article directories. To further your promotion, you may also join forums and blogs related to your website with your articles in it. Goodluck!

You can try to post it to other high PR sites for more exposure, or you can use Dapper to create feed channels for your articles and post them to feed submissions' sites.

Yeah, I've read that kind of thinking other places, too.

The thing is, you have to understand what article submission sites are and who they service-- the newsletter community. That is, people that put out a regular newsletter and are looking for relevant topics. Most of them don't write their own articles. They just pick them up from the article submission sites and are happy to include the author's byline in exchange for the article. It builds their site's content (since most newsletters are actually posted on a site, with only an email alert put out about it), and everyone's happy.

Thing is, different ezine editors may go to a couple of the submission sites... but there are dozens and dozens out there. So, to give an article its widest possible exposure, a writer should submit it to as many submission sites as possible.

As it happens -- and this page has been on my site for years now, even though I'm new to this forum -- I keep a whole listing of article submission sites that I use on my site. I started keeping the list to help other writers and it comes in handy for my own submissions, too.

And it's pretty up to date, as I just went through it in January.

Of course, it is not all inclusive. There are no sites that offer auto-submission (usually doesn't work), and no sites that request email submission. Also, I noticed in January that many sites that have links titled, "article submission" really only intend to publish the articles on THEIR site, so they are not included. And, of course, no sites that request any kind of fee were included, either.

I'm an old writer-- well, not quite old as dirt, but old enough to remember when writers were actually PAID to write articles... it's just too far afield to see places actually charge to post articles. At least, to me.

If you're serious about article submission as a means to validate yourself and create back links, it's definitely worth it. But writing one article and submitting it to one or two sites will not get you very far.

On the other hand, of the articles I've written, the better ones have created as many as 10,000K back links within a week or two of submitting them.

I tend to use ezine articles. Simply because they are one of the biggest article directories. Also ezine has RSS feeds so you can take your feed and distribute it to feed directories. Pretty nifty

Submit your article to article directories to get back links. Use social bookmarking (Digg, Delicious etc) submit your article's central idea in related category.

I noticed that if you can contact an editor at major news dite they will be happy to publish your article and that will spread th article to thousands of other article sites that are willing to pick it up

Start promoting it thru various dofollow forums and blogs by linking your site in the sig and remember to build good reputation and share decent and quality posts to make your site trusted by others thereby leading traffic and quality backlinks.

How many different articles are you talking about? And how many different directories are you submitting to?

The top two directories hands down are EzineArticles.com and GoArticles.com

Then there are services that can put your articles primarily in article directories and a few blogs.

Then there is a service, mine, that will send your article directly to ezine publishers, webmasters and bloggers.

Each of the distribution services have different strategies for putting your articles into the hands of people who may wish to publish them, and as a result, each will generate different kinds of results.

Some companies rest their laurels on getting your article to a lot of article directories.

My company does not submit to article directories at all. My philosophy is and always has been that getting to ezine publishers is the number one priority, since publication in an ezine can result in your seeing thousands of visitors to your website in a single day.

This should not be construed to mean that my service cannot or will not get you links to your website from web pages, because that just is not the case. We get links from websites and blogs that are not article directories.

Of my competitors, not many of them can claim as we can that we have gotten articles into sites such as Wall Street Journal Online, Web MD, and About.com.

I always recommend a diversified approach in building links to your website through articles. Use my service and other services to get the biggest bang for your money.

Thanks guys for sharing your experience. I tried to submit my article to Ezine directory, but they found a paragraph which is similar to my blogpost. So they said my article was not original. So beware if you wrote similar content on other sites.

I would like to use article submission to promote my blog and web site but if I submit one article to many article directories, wouldn't google just count the link as just one despite the fact that the article has been published at many sites?

If you take my suggestion, the don't go for submitting your article into many article directories. it would enough to submit your article into 5 or 7 good article directory.
