Dammit I just realized that those search engines are making billions of our hard work and we get nothing in return!
Some "volunteers" spend hours indexing sites... Its really sad. But they ARE volunteers! |

G'Day
Yeah sad but true. I volunteered to edit a small category, mainly because it needed updating BADLY. I should know, as I have an old [now dead] site listed, and that is after repeated submissions to upgrade the URL and change the description. I was rejected via a standardized email that listed several potential reasons for rejection that included the "potential for self promotion". I figured since my listing is [still] out of date there is the potential for other listings to be out of date and also the possibility of, as yet, unprocessed submissions to the category. I also figured that after nearly ten years working in the field of the category I would be highly qualified to evaluate what I was seeing. My listing is still out of date -- and I'm unlikely to volunteer again that's for sure. -- Shame really as even ten minutes a day on a small category has to do more good than no minutes The category in question by the way is - http://dmoz.org/Arts/Crafts/Balloon_...lloon_Artists/ Cheers ....Dave |
