Default Do follow and No follow

I’ve come across this dofollow and nofollow topic quite several times in many forums and I’ve replied to them as per my knowledge. What I know is secondary, but I want to know clearly about the topic and how far they would impact in popularizing the website.

jst open open any bookmarking site and view its new or stories.then select title or the link and by right click go to view source if you find rel="Dofollow" then it is dofollow and if there is rel="NoFollow" then it's nofollow. If you find that there is no rel displayed then it is dofollow.FireFox Mozilla is also providing Addons to check the link is dofollow or not.

An easier way is to use a plugin that will automatically tell you if a link is a do or no follow as you view the page. Im using SEO quake.

No-follow (Not giving SEO benefit)
Do-follow(Gives SEO benefit, followed by Search engines)

Google will not crawl no-follow links but still some other search engines will count no-follow links.
No-follow links can still bring referral traffic.

Based on my experienced you dofollow is not necessary on getting backlinks, as long as the links is related. You can still improved rankings even you have links from nofollow site. Dofollow links are for those who are so crazy about their PR.

With Do-follow links you would get Page Rank and since Google considers them as REAL backlinks, you would also improve your SERPs. But with No-follow you won't have any advantage since Google doesn't take that link into consideration while ranking sites for a query. Yahoo is said to follow the link and index it and count as a backlink (not completely sure will have to check again).

dofollow can serve link juices to pointed pages as well as traffic (depending on the link visibility on the page) while nofollow can serve nothing but a possible traffic (again, depending on the link visibility).

If you are aiming to promote your site regardless of SEO, then you can go posting links of your site's pages anywhere.. But if you aim to top SERP on keywords of your choice, observe proper usage of anchor text and consider only dofollow incoming links.. In this case, you need to carefully check the absent of rel="nofollow" on the link code. Dofollow links can boost your rankings and it can also provide your site a descent PR.

Anyways, above only applies to SEs that observe this code (Google, Yahoo, MSN, and others), some others don't. So there's still a need to balance backlinks you gain for your site.

I tend to use both. Do follow links pointing back to your site are great for SEO but no follow backlinks can bring human traffic. Also Google is not the only search engine and I think yahoo and MSN follow no follow links

Google may not follow nofollow links but Yahoo considers it.

Even if you don't get any link juice but the traffic is worth consideration.

Well, first off, if your site is dofollow, you share your websites PR or linkjuice because SE's will index any external links from your site to theirs. So you're linked to that site for all intents and purposes. In no follow sites, its the contrary. No link back to your site from that site no matter what.

I often wonder if No and DoFollow actually make any difference between when I research backlinks Google seem not to set them as any different value wise. There are some sites online if you search for DoFollow blogs for example where you can find a list of DoFollow blogs in case of interest.

most of the website and blog owner are using nofollow to keep away of the spammers and to the link juice sharing to other sites.

The basic way to tell the difference between "dofollow" and "nofollow" is take a look at the HTML source code of the inputs. If the comment HTML do not have a tag called rel=”nofollow”, then it is a true blog with “dofollow” attribute.

However, when leaving a message, we have to keep this in mind that “dofollow” blogs become rare now due to spamming. Most bloggers will not tolerate spammy comments any more. So, if you are going to make a comment about them, try the best to make it a helpful and relevant one!

nofollow still gives a point but not a ++ compared to dofollow

As far as I know dofollow sites pass their link juice to sites linking to them while the no follow sites will not pass their link juice thus not helping the site linking to them improve their ranking as well as number of traffic. I am using NoDoFollow add on to help my identify which sites are dofollow and nofollow

For starters, one needs to be aware of the fact that the nofollow attribute value exists, whereas nofollow doesn't.
