Cononical isses with website

hiiii guys...
I am facing a problem regarding canonical issues with my website.My innere pages are redirecting me to index.asp,rather than home page.
I want to know from you guys that will there be any effect on SERP on my website?
Should i replace index.asp or should i use 302 redirection?

Please give me your suggestion.

In theory, search engines might see "/" and "/index.asp" as duplicated content. In this case, one version might get filtered out of the serps, with the effect that you might lose the pagerank going to the filtered page. Google has said that they try to recombine PR, but this is not yet perfected, so the use of redirects might be adviseable.
