Please will you give the address of a typical page so that I can validate and see what sorts of errors are being reported.

Without even seeing your website, I can tell you that unless your site validates, you are in serious trouble.

My opinion...
If your users can read the page, Google and other search engines will also be able to read it. SEO is a little different, it covers a multitude of different aspects. How far you wish to go as far as SEO is concerned is a matter of personal choice. there are a few WPW members that consider it a sin to have even a minor error. Personally I think that If the reader can read understand the pages and follow links successfully you are basically O.K because the search engines can find whatever the site user can find. That covers most of your needs.. More details of the site would have been nice, nobody reading this thread has been given the faintest clue about the possible problems your site might have. Be more upfront. . .

I recently developed a site for a used car dealer in my town. His old site had virtually no presence on the search engine results and he was unable to gain access to the source code to make changes. The site I developed almost immediately gained a huge presence on SERP but had many HTML errors. Those have been corrected and the site continues to rise in SERP almost on a daily basis. |
