I have one blog who for the third straight update has scored a zero on PR. I did a lot of PPP on the site at one time and despite having removed the posts and done nothing with pay per post since last summer. I don't regret doing the paid posting on that blog as it brought several hundred bucks a month in when I really needed. (It made the difference between paying my utilities and not being able to make rent.) This is a pop culture blog which gets a fair amount of traffic and about to start getting a lot more with American idol starting up, but it still has no page rank which means I am making crap on anything that requires PR since the end of july.
My question is this I have two other semi-relevant blogs I could import the posts too and simply redirect the domain to. Both are PR 4 blogs with decent search traffic and wouldn't look out of place including the other posts. The questions are what would be the benefits and what would be the risks of closing down the pr 0 blog, adding the content to a different blog, and simply redirecting the old domain and then letting it expire? In my mind getting a few hundred relevant posts with good keywords seems like a winning situation since it appears google is only peanlizing the domain and not the content. I know there is a risk I could lose the PR of the new blog, but that is life, I risk that with everything I do not officially approved of by google. That said I also have a good chance of increasing backlinks and organic search traffic to the combined blog which would help my ranking.

Couple of things come to mind.
1. If they are both on the same server / same IP then close the O pr as the cross links to each would be ignored pretty much as they need to always have their own IP address. ( like it or not it's part of the SEO Pie ) 2. Taking the content from O to the PR 4 should actually help as long as you don't add it all at once. It would be flag as odd to have so many new post etc... just move over 25 or so a week and let the old domain name expire once you have them all moved. 3. Business is always a risk but in this case I'd move forward with the switch. 4. Place Google ad's in the PR4 blog and make them none intrusive maybe it will help pay the rent! Good luck!

what to do mean combine? are you going to link them? The only problem is, if they have same IP.

Do you feel the people who visit each of these blogs would benefit from having them combined. If you have regulars you don't want to lose them just to pursue PageRank.

you can try google adsence to earn alittle extra income and maybe Google would be sending you a little more traffic.
however combining the content for your blogs does not sound a very good idea to me. just get more organic / natural links from relevant websites and you should get good traffic. Try social bookmarking websites. Do not look at PR, it is just for entertainment purposes. It does carry it value, but having 0 PR does not mean that your website will get no traffic from google.

Have you thought about asking the viewers of your 0 blogg what they think before you merge/close it?

I am closing one blog and moving its content to another more heavily visited and higher page ranked blog. These won't be two identical blogs, only one much larger blog.

I moved everything at once so I didn't have to keep fixing my magazine style theme with every change. Integrating 6 new static pages and 17 new categories and 6 duplicate categories was best done all at once. As I check each of the 300+ posts I moved for graphical and linking errors I am removing it from the old blog and placing a redirect to its new home. I figure I will be done by the next time Google caches either blog in 2 to 3 weeks. The big task ahead of me is something I started a month ago and that is adding page descriptions to each of my tag pages to improve its SEO and the viability of future link sales. The only problem is I have gone from 2500 tag pages to more than 7500 tag pages. That is a damned lot of work since

Most of my active readers actually read both and I did talk to a few of them and they liked the idea. A few people aren't excited about the merge since they only read the feed, but after explaining people can subscribe to my the feeds from individual categories and ignore everything else they got excited.

If readers are agree than i think you have to merge your blog. And also dont forgot to redirect your blog to merge blog.
