what's the best way for me to create a backlink?

Hi,

I have a personal website and I want to give a back link to my business site. I will create keywords with the proper anchor texts that lead to my site. Now my personal website has a dozen pages. should I place a link on each page with a different keyword for each anchor text? Will each count?

If you want to give back link to your business site, then provide back link at home page or two clicks away from home page

You can have as many links from your personal site to your business site as you like and wherever you like. You will not incur any penalty that I know of by putting links to your business site on every page of your personal site.

How much good such links will do your business site, especially if the two sites are on the same host and have the same ip, is questionable, but it will not do any harm that I know of.

And anyway, as it is a personal site, then linking to your business topics is relevant and personal to you, so it makes sense to do so I would say.

I cant see how it could do any harm at all and you have the right idea to use relevant anchor text, mixing up the anchor text is also a good idea as it is more natural than 20 links all with exactly the same anchor text.

If you use google webmaster tools, then there is an option there to see what Google sees in external links to your site, so you can look later and see whether those links you place with different anchor text get registered by google.

Actually the links that Google reveals in WMT mean little.

Google does not reveal all the links it sees or the value of any links noted in their WMT, or anywhere else such as Yahoo Site Explorer.

Just like KFC never revealed its secret recipe Google is not going to reveal what links it counts, and what value, if any, those links hold.

I get a laugh out of people who swear by link analysis tools.....hard to score anything when no value was ever given.....

Google webmaster tools does not claim to tell people what value is being given to the external links, it only claims to show what its bots are seeing. It is useful as such for people who want that info.

Oh and by the way, the secret KFC recipe is in fact just plain old salt , pepper & msg batter, but it is cooked in a special pressurised deep frier which is why it is so hard to recreate. It is the method not the ingredients that give it the edge.

you could get one link per post if you add a signature with your website url on each of these posts (grin)
The links will appear retrospectively once the signature is added.

There is no such thing as do follow, every link is automaticly followed by search engines, unless it has a don't follow after it. robots.txt file can also do this for groups or directory's. some search engines ignore the robot.txt file if they have been set to do so.

Hi, i know those days when my site was suffering from low backlinks but then i started creating my own blogs and then placing my site link into the sidebaar which at last helped me to build backlinks. You may also participate in forums by adding your site into the signature column this may also help you getting backlinks..

how relevant is your personal blog to your business site anyways? if its not that relevant, then I suggest not doing so, I mean not to leave links in your blog post, what you should do is create a content in your personal blog about your business blog, and thats where you should leave the links.

well, though forums are nice ways to get backlinks, it still wont give that much, I would rather target to get traffic by advertising my keywords in my signature than hope to get a nice share of the link juice with all of the members with their own sites..

There are so many ways to get backlinks foryour site that i would not spam my other site with links to it. Maybe put one on homepage and some other on relevant pages but do not exceed.

Forget the ky word dencity.. promote the site based on some few keywords maximum 3 and once u suceded on it u will get traffic based on many related keywords from the site itslef

It will give you a internal linking but still you need some links from other website as it is counting as vote for your website.

This you can do by social bookmarking which can give you instant link back.

I have a little bit different approach to backlinks. The standard methods of articles, forum posts, etc. are all the foundation. But, my first step is to find the weakest member of Google's first page search results to see if I can beat them out for their position for my main keyword.

From that point, I can see what keyword(s) they rank for, and whether or not I can compete with them. Once I identify that site, I then find the location of all their active backlinks to evaluate those sites for page rank and relevancy.

That's when I look for ways to get links from those same sites, and expand from there. If my site is seen as more relevant, then after a while, I'll grab their position in the SERPs.

You should think about the benefit that this link will give to your visitors. Will linking to your business site from multiple pages will help the visitors of your site? Are the pages [content], where you want to place a link, related to your business site? If yes, then I think linking from multiple pages will be ok.And if you only want to link to your business site to gain PR or any other SEO benefits and that the two sites are not relevant, then I think linking between them may not help much.
