Blogroll Backlink vs Backlink from Post

If you have a choice between:

- getting backlinks from inside the all posts of the blog
OR
- getting backlinks from the Blogroll section of the blog

What would you choose? Don't you think that links from posts look more SEO lucrative?

I choose none. I would choose to have my site link in the position of the blog (whether there is) where the owner advises other cool sites. I don't really target backlinks from blogs but traffic.

I think you have to go w/ the post-level links for the most value.

I would chose links within content as that way I will get more quality and relevant links

If you were to try and determine the relative strength of either of the links, I would assume that both would be about equal... However the blogroll link will stay there indefinitely, while the post will get archived eventually...
If you had the option, why not get both? That is, you can get a listing in the blogroll and then have them write a post about why your there... That would add relevancy...

I agree, however when you can get the link relatively easily, there's no reason to not get it... While the link juice might be negligible, you can't know that for sure until you get the link and check the rankings... Considering you need a link to get traffic, why not get some ancillary juice as well?

With relation to traffic and juice, the links in a post will get transmitted via RSS feeds, the blogroll will not... These RSS feeds might be getting published online, or might be getting scraped and used by spammers... which is not a terribly bad thing for an authorititative site (i.e. one thats not brand new and subject to penalization due to possible spam connections) because it could lead to hundreds of backlinks (from crap sites, but since your not doing any work, who cares)...

Am I correct in this assumption?
