Internet Marketing Blog - considered "Website" for directory submission?

I have an Internet Marketing Blog that I would like to gain some backlinks to. I have another website which I submitted to a lot of directories.
My question is, does a blog like the one I have count as "real website" when it comes to the search engines, for submisssion to directories/ Could I do the same with my blog as I did with my website?
--I am going away for 5 days as of tomorrow morning, so if I don't answer on any suggestions that's why...

Yes, you can submit your site to directories just like you did your other site.. But directories are becoming less and less influential in the SERPs..

Had to update my link in my signature - you know what I did? I changed the permalink in my wordpress blog to .html, and now all the links I had pointing to posts which have not got .html come up as 404- page not found! I guess I have learned something again...the hard way!
Now it should hopefully work.
