Default Ranking Fluctuations

Hi All
Can anyone let me know. Does ranking is affected by the time or not? I mean in 24 hours does ranking fluctuates and rank differently depending upon the server timings?
I have noticed this strange behavior in google. Have anyone faced this? I would really appreciate if anyone have any hint about this.

Thanks

Rank positions fluctuate in Google. You can sometimes see rank positions change just by refreshing the search results page.

There is also the issue of different data centers. Google has numerous data centers and the data center serving your search results changes throughout the day. Where I live I see 4 different data centers that switch from one to another during the day. Each data center can have different search results.

Hi,
I think Google is trying to make the best possible results for us, but some result are stable they are not Fluctuate
for stable ranking we need regular work on site like Social book marking blog commenting etc.

Yes you are right to increase the page rank its continuously work in the social book marking site but posting the comment in blog is not that much measurable because it is not back linking to the sites.

I have the same problem and still I'm confused on Google SERP. It updates for an hour, imagine that. But some of my colleagues told me that I must double up my work because my keywords are too competitive.

^^ that could be the cost too. if you expect your keywords to rank high in SERP, your competitors thinks the same way, if you work hard for your keywords, so does your competitors.
