Determining competitors targeted key words and terms

Besides simply looking at a page and trying to determine what keywords and terms a competitor is targeting, I was wondering if anyone knows a much more quantitative way to do this.

Ideally I could see my competitors analytics - what I am truly interested in is search terms that convert to subscribers on the competitions site - but of course that's impossible. Next best thing is to try and determine what they are targeting in the assumption that they are targeting terms that are fruitful (searchers convert into subscribers).
