Google Maps

Hello everyone,

My question is that when I type local keyword in Google, it shows a link "Local business results for ----" and 10 listings are displayed. When I click on this link, It takes me to Google maps listings ( again 10 listings ). But the order of the listings is not the same. Can anyone explain why ?

Could you share some screen shots so that we can understand what you are trying to say.

What I am trying to say is that website which is in 3rd position in Google SERP is shown in 5th
position in Google Maps.

los angeles plumbers - Google Search

These are local listings. The order is first based on matching you to the closet plumber from you query.

Lets take the example provided by you. In the Google SERP , Surfside plumbing ( enter the keyword given by you ) is displayed in second position. But the same result is shown in 3rd position in Google Maps.

I know that these are local listings, but I am intereted in knowing why the order of Google SERP listings and Google Maps listings is not the same.
