Default Redirects?

I run a Site for Women's Clothing. It is very difficult as once I get a page in the top 5 of the SERPS, we sell out of the item.

What do I do with all the product pages that are indexed with high rankings?

Is there a limit to the number redirects I use on my htaccess file?

Any suggestions is very much appreciated.

Thanks

The Confused.

I did not understand this one.

What do you mean ? Isn't it nice that product pages get high rankings ? Analyze the stats and optimize the conversion rate.

You can hava as many redirects as you need. Avoid redirect chains though: do not redirect from A to B and from B to C and from C to D and so on.

I tried to help, but your questions were confusing to me.

We have products on the pages that have high rankings. We sell out of the products and are unable to supply anymore. Therefor I have numerous pages with products that are sold out with high rankings. What should I do with these pages, simply redirect them or something else?

Thanks

I would redirect to another product page, if there is one that is close enough to the product that is sold out. Otherwise, I would change the page of the sold out product and the new version of the page would show several other product proposals (it could also explain that the product is not available anymore).
