My client is a European consumer site. In the US, I typically use keyword data to optimize SERP and evaluate new content opportunities. like everyone else, I use the standard SEO tools that report US search volume and directory listings. But I haven't found any reliable data for non-US countries (other than the UK).
Google claims to have have country-specific databases, but the results show ridiculously low search volume for keywords i know must be in the top 100. (Search for "muzica gratis" shows less than 50 searches in Spain.) Any one know of a reliable country-specific keyword tool or database? I'm most interested in Spain, Germany, France, Italy, etc. |

I'm not sure why I'm replying because i really don't know of any keyword checker that reports on individual countries. It wasn't too long ago that the UK got their own data to look at so I'm still really pleased with that, although the Wordtracker data from UK is really low and it takes a good bit of common sense to get the best from it.
The only thing that i can recommend is, research markets yourself. Hit some related forums from the countries and sectors you're targeting and ask some questions/surveys...

Bill, I am from Spain and first of all you should test keywords in correct Spanish language. No wonder why "muzica gratis" showed you only 50 searches - in Spanish it is "música gratis"
