Importance of Page Capitalisation

I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the importance of capitalisation of files in seo. I did a search in Google on "datacards" and "Datacards" and the results were identical - so I assume there is no difference.

I do not think it really makes a difference. Some people use capitals some don't. I think the SCO's don't care.

I think the important thing (assuming you are talking about URLs) is consistency. Google will see /datacards.html as a different page than /Datacards.html, which could potentially lead to duplicate content issues. Make sure your links are consistent.

Yes, not much of a difference for search terms, however there might be issues if some letters are capitalized in your page name (while same file without capitalization exists on the server).
Also I have found that there is a difference whether your site is hosted on a Windows or Linux server.

I don't think capitalization has any effect on SERP. It's the same.

It makes no difference in terms of placement in the SERPs, however it's common practice to use "proper case" in order to catch the eye of the reader.

Try searching with your targeted search phrases and take note of how attractive or unattractive the various listings are based on their use of UPPER, lower case and Proper Case titles and descriptions.

Some grab your attention, while others just don't. BTW, all upper case is a mistake, as are asterisks and special characters. They tend to give users the impression that they're spammy links.
