Default Search Engine of Choice

Whenever I need information, I either go to Yahoo or to Google. Specially with the Google toolbar neatly installed and accessible, it becomes quicker to search for anything. Search results are often satisfactory and if I don't find it in Google, I go to Yahoo, or vice versa. My friend introduced me to AskJeeves (it has been renamed, I think), which I rarely use. As for MSN, I don't really use it, unless I just logged out of my hotmail account and the homepage gets back to MSN.

As an experienced WPW member, I did not get a single comment to this

Google the best search engine?

related post. You get my comment. If you want more "search" related information,

Click

"search"

at the top of the frontpage of the second link in my signature, and you find my ranking.

Note Related Links: "Regional search" is under construction.

A meta searh engine can not live without native SE's. It seems that Clusty the clustering search engine give relevant SERP's for these terms:
  1. Financial stability
  2. Object oriented programming (Google give the Wikipedia hit as the first two hits).
  3. Transcendental numbers (Google give the Wikipedia hit as the first hit).
I more and more get the impression that Google is a search tool for Wikipedia. If people from Google see this, that is an indication that that may not be the most relevant hit.

It should have been tested much more thorougly on thousands of random search terms.

But a meta SE can not find and index new unindexed content. So my preferred search horse is also Google.
