Default how to get site on search engine?

I am working on a site, www.lakeedwardresort.com, and I am having problems getting the search engines to pick it up. I have changed the title and meta tags a couple of times to try and get it more noticeable.

The problem is when you type in the name, lake edward resort, you get a lot of what I call garbage type sites, hotel booking sites, etc., that don't get you to the correct site. The site has been only been out there for about 2 1/2 months, so maybe I am not giving it enough time. I am still waiting on more information to put into the site, but there is enough out there that I think the search engines should find it.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

A couple of things that might help.

You are not using your keywords as effectively as you should. You are only using 147 characters. You can use up to 1000.

Same for your description. You are using 120, when you can use up to 250.

There are five keywords that are not used in your page at all.

You also do not have any links on the page. One of the criteria that browsers look at is how many links you have on your page.

One last thing is to try and get your page to validate. This also helps with ranking.
