Default Directory vs Page

Hi all,

When it comes to directory and file structure what is preferabel?

www.mydomain.com/keyword1/keyword2/keyword3/
www.mydomain.com/keyword1/keyword2/keyword3.html
www.mydomain.com/keyword1/keyword2/keyword3/keyword4.html

If there is differences, is there a lot in it?

Thanks.

Really with SEO you want to optimize your website for people. Think about it. What is the goal of search engines? To supply to user with the content that will help him! Therefore, if you optimize your website for people, the search engines will probably put you high in the SERPs.

Hope this helps!

Cheers Nate, but I'm a bit lost on this one. I can't see which way would be better for the user?

From a users persepective I would guess this would be better:

www.mydomain.com/really-short-word/

But that wouldn't better for SEO. Does that theory work in this instance?

Of course the main objective would be to create a site that is for the people or for some specific market, but we also have to consider optimizing it properly and we would have to consider SEs as people would not be able to reach our sites if SE s wont have them...
