Smile One way links

Hi All,

These are the methods from which we receive one way links to our websites:

1. Forum Postings
2. Blogging
3. Article Submissions
4. Directory Submissions
5. Press Releases
6. Submission to free classified sites
7. Participating in Yahoo questions and answers
8. Social Media Optimization
9. Submission of images to photo sharing site or logo submissions

I am using all the above methods for one way links to my site. Please tell me if i missed anything.

Thanks in advance for your reply

Regards
Subhzash

Right link building doesnt start with....link building. It starts with building a great company first.

I've ended up with a few links on Wiki. God knows where they came from!? Ive got some good content on the site so someone, somewhere obviously liked it and cited it. Cheers!

One practice that is worth mentioning is industry interaction. Make an effort to contact other websites within your sector and ask for links. This might involve offering them something first. I found that once i had a foot in the door most people were happy to help.

I really don't know how much valuable the methods are. Please read my views on the methods mentioned above:

Forum Posting:
Are you starting new threads in niche forums OR just posting in different forums randomly with a link to your site from the signature? A lot of forum puts 'nofollow' on signature links. Moreover, I am doubtful about the weight of 100 links from same domain!

Blogging:
Have you created blogs for your sites? Are you posting regularly on those blogs with a link back to your main site? Then these are internal links I guess and good for your site especially when you use keywords in the link title.

Commenting on blogs may not be much useful. The 'nofollow' issue is still there. And you need to write good (I mean not spam) comments to make the comment valuable.

Article Submission:
Can you please clarify this? Are you writing articles and publishing it to 100 article directories? Chances are search engine would consider this as just 1 instance. However, it may bring you some traffic although.

Directory Links:
With Google no longer liking directories, where do I get PR?

Press Releases:
A good process to get one way links if used properly.

Among the rest of the processes, participating in Yahoo! Answers may bring you some theme links, but I am not sure if those pages can pass you PR at all. Anyways, PR is not all that one should consider. The rest of the methods are useful to achieve online presence and traffic.

----------------

The best way to get 1 way links is to create a good site design wise and content wise so that people become impulsive to link to you.

One more thing you can try: create RSS Feed of your blog/site and get it published in Feed directories. A lot of people publish Feeds on their own site to offer their visitors updated news. It's worth trying.

Analyze your top most competitiors back links, and start doing link building in the manner that they did.

Some good advice on this thread especially as i've just started off page marketing for a few clients.

The way im approaching it is by setting up a Google Alerts for their chosen keywords and then posting comments on all blogs, forums and articles Google informs me of. I know enough about the companies to make my comments credible and they (sometimes) generate interest from other posters which will further increase their online pressence. Along with some directory submissions and the company exchanging links with affiliates, "friendly" companies etc and the sites are doing well!

I havent even approached article submission or press releases yet, so there's plenty left to try! Im also investigating potential wiki links.
