Default Mirror Site & Duplicate Content

Im getting confuse on what is the difference between a duplicate content and a mirror site.

As far as i know, a duplicate content is having same content within 2 or more website (having different targeted KW); while, in other hand, mirror site is having 2 or more site similar in all aspect (design, target KW, contents).

Am i right? Or any other things they differ?

Thumbs down Re: Mirror Site & Duplicate Content

I agree with incredible help. There's no real difference, and either version (if they do separately exist) of what's essentially the same content is going to do you some harm as far as Google is concerned.

I agree. duplicate content means same content while mirror site means a copy of other site.

Yes duplicate mean not 100% duplicate. But mirror site means 100% copying

To me, duplicate content is not visual. It can incorporate stolen/ripped-off content, poorly syndicated content or other situations where content may appear in part, or in full, on another page or site. Mirror sites are usually separate domains used to serve the same content - either from the exact same server (not properly utilising 301 redirects) or by copying the content across to the second domain.
