I'd do what Janeth says. I blogged on Blogger for 2.5 years and had analytics. I never got more than 0 to 12 (that was high!) visitors per day with every single post written by myself and written to agonizingly high quality standards (I was used to writing articles for our small town newspaper and they had to be "tight). In 2.5 yrs I never got as many vistors to any page of the blog as I have in the just past 3 mos (since the switch) with my own vanity URL, WP Theme and private hosting!
All of the hours (maybe 1 to 1 1/2) hrs from inception to finished post. It didn't make a darn bit of difference!
My son moved it to WP template and ASO hosting. BJ (member)
SEO'd it lightly for me removing crappy coding and weird HTML stuff (I used to create my posts in an email with HTML enabled - now I use Notepad)
Then Incrediblehelp (above) turned me on to Stumble and Digg and how that worked.
My highest day has been 1805 visits! And normal runs from anywhere between 70 to 1500 uniques PER DAY! Lots of 1000+ visitor days now. It's only been there for 6 mos. and wow - I love it!
I'm so happy to have people notice my bog and comment on posts etc.. I finally feel like my work is being appreciated and that's what keeps me at it.
Good luck!
