Default HELP! I need to remove a previous thread that is showing up in the SERPs Page 1

Hello there,

I'm in need of some moderator help. I need to remove a thread and/or references to my site in a post that basically is telling the world the trouble I am having and shows up when someone does a search for my name. How do I remove this? When someone pasted all my keywords i also noticed that this thread showed up in the SERPs from the keyword search too.

Please help!

Thank you!!

Beverly

This situation occurs from time to time, especially with smaller sites, and may be due to your site not having enough inbound links from high page rank sites. It'll take some effort on your part but it's easily rectified. A long term goal would be to try adding some inbound links will serve as an insulator against less favorable information being listed within the first few SERP's.

To address your immediate concern, it may be possible to delete the original thread but it might be easier and more advantageous to update it with a more positive spin explaining how you've conquered the issues you were having.

Additionally, if a thread from a single forum is showing up high in the SERP's, you know you should be able to outrank it by posting newer, more flattering posts.

Search engines LOVE new content, so use that to your advantage by feeding them with information you want them to return. Start posting in popular forums within your niche and you'll bury the bad news quickly.

Beverly, here you are.

Now, do you want a little tip from Mr. Webnauts? Get rid of your signature in the forums here. Then wait for a while, and the problem should be solved itself.

Keep posting with your sig. on the forum and another post will take it's place or work on your own site so it out ranks the problem.

if the offending keywords are in the thread title it may not go for a while. if they're not it will likely drop away in a couple of weeks time.
