How important are reciprocal links to achieving high search engine ranking? I have heard it said that it is more important than any other factor ( assuming the links to your site are from quality web sites with high rankings)

Non-reciprocated links with your keyword(s) in the anchor text from what Google sees as an authority/expert site on the same theme as yours rules.
