I will be adding a ton of new content to my site.
Question: is there any difference, seo wise, between adding the content to my blog or to the 'main site'? I'm currently #1 for the top 5 searches in my local industry so not looking to make a climb....just solidify... (ya ya, I know the concept of 'solidification' is an illusion') sites at Painters Vancouver Regards Rick

To blog or not ... would depend on whether the content lends itself to blogging ... could be a combination of both makes most sense.
I do try to get my clients to blog because it means that more content is added on a regular basis ... ergo more spider food ... and people like to read blogs about certain topics ... but I also encourage the building of content on regular old html pages ... things like FAQs generally work better there, IMO. Talking about "solidification" I have read a lot of writings by SEO Gurus about posting
snippets of website's contents in blogs (different IPs) once the website’s contents have been indexed by the SEs. I'm implementing this technique for my Digital Product Center which is not among the top 100 for anything other than "digital product center" but many of its webpages are getting high ranking and generating sales.

i think it depends...but generally forums and blogs are pretty good when it comes to SEO...your own site would need to be organized well to compete with it...

I would post it on my site. You have more control of your site and can control the way the site links to the articles.
Nothing will get hidden and become hard to find. And with the problems Google is having with the PPP I would not want to take a chance with the content and ranking. |

Then there is no difference in adding content to main site or blog |
